Leaf Depictions; Giants and Minis.
Giant Gunnera leaves many well over 4 feet across! How could I possibly resist? I am passionate about materials and process and it challenges me to find a way to work with these organic forms. Playing with scale allows me to simulate magnification. The resulting leaf depictions have rich textures with intricate veining that show the matrix of a leaf’s construction. Leaves and trees represent cycles of transformation, decay, and ultimately, renewal.
